On Friday we had a Purim party, love this holiday when kids can dress up like they favorite heroes.

An old joke goes something like this:

Child: “What holiday are we celebrating today, Ima (Mother)?”
Mother: “The one where they tried to kill us and failed. Now, let’s eat!”

Of course, the very thing that makes most jokes funny is the kernel of truth at their foundation. Purim is one of the holidays containing that very kernel of truth.

Purim celebrates the escape from annihilation of the Jewish people under the Persian king Ahasuerus. As told in the biblical Book of Esther, the king banished his wife Vashti for refusing to appear naked before his guests. He then held a beauty contest during which he picked a beautiful Jewish woman named Esther as his new queen. Meanwhile, one of his courtiers, a man named Haman, was plotting to kill the Jews in the kingdom. Esther and her uncle, Mordecai, successfully conspire to foil the plot by wining and dining the king and then begging him to spare her people, which he does. (For the full version of the story)

Purim itself is a joyful holiday filled with costumes, noisemakers, gifts of food, charitable giving and, of course, feasting. The representative food for Purim is a triangular shaped pastry with fruit, poppyseed, or nut fillings called Hamantaschen, named for Haman and representing the three-cornered hat he wore as Prime Minister.

I don't like winter (I could say I hate it, but I hate that word), when the sky is grey and not even a tiny sunshine throughout all week, I became melancholic and blue, you know what I mean?
I've heard about that condition, it even has a name - it's cold SAD which means
"Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as winter depression or winter blues".
Well, you know what? I cant live like that, it's bad for my business!
I know how to fix that melancholic mood.
All you have to do is to think of a Winter as is of a price we're paying for the beautiful and merry Spring. Everyone love Spring, wright? I know I do.
So to help me with that, I've found those heart stopping pics, and I am on my way of healing and becoming more cheerful and optimistic every day (no pills were taken).

Today I've waked up at 05:30 AM to these awesome view, it looks like taken from some magical painting.
I can say it made the awakening process much easier.

Most brilliant and easiest chocolate treat ever!!!! And the taste is pure Heaven

You can make them for St. Valentine for your love ones. I think it's the most easiest, fastest and tastiest chocolate treat I have aver tasted at my whole life, and I am a chocoholic, believe me.
So, all you need is:
200 grams of chocolate (dark or milk or both)
50 grams of butter
100 grams of roasted crushed nuts (almonds or walnuts or any other nuts you like, you cam mix different types of nuts).
Full hand of crushed cornflakes (I used one that kids didn't liked), you can put more.
10 prunes cutted into little pieces

Melt your chocolate, add butter, stir till melting.

Add rest of the ingredients and mix all together

With two teaspoons place the mixture in to the paper cupcakes and to the fridge for at list two hours.

I got this new Sony Ericsson and it's rocks!!!!

I took this picture at 7:50 AM on a way to school with my kids, that was really cold out side so pigeons were sitting closely to each other to get warm.
In couple of hours there was sky falling to us, with this huge amount of water (hate winter), but can't live with it and can't live without it too, we desperately need water at our little country.

Mushroom season have began!!!!

Love walking through woods picking up those yummy orangy mushrooms, you have to look closely under the bushes, they are hiding under the falling leaves, smiling like Mother Nature.
This weekend we where at Sataf woods near Jerusalem, there was no intention to peak up mushrooms, it was just another path we chose to make with the boys and my aunt (she knows all the paths)

My aunt with hand full of them, the happiest face ever!

We picked up around 3 kilos of these, and I have made some roasted potato withe them, my, that was a feast!

Boys are warming up, it was freezing, as soon as a sum went down, and we weren't prepared, luckily, my aunt had this warm blanket in her car, so here they are waiting for the meal (barbecue, their favorite)
We had an awesome time together, kids loved it and we did to, we should make it every weekend!

Lately I've began creating those tiny sparkling charms in variety of colors, you can wear them with any outfit at any occasion.
Don't know why I have crave for those cutes, maybe because I've found a bag of crystals that I totally forgot about them ( just madly in love with those little stars), or maybe it's winter and I miss the sun?
Any way, here I am, thinking what to do with them, and they must be the main feature of course, and woallah! Just decorated them with my favorite media - polymer clay!
It worked just swell, I've loved the outcome and so will kip making them in more colors.

The leaves fall, the wind blows - kids crafting

Although we don't have that beautiful fall as in Europe, but we have some yellow leaves too. Most of the trees stay green through all season.
Me and the kids decided to make some pictures of fall trees, we used water color paints for coloring, black acrylic for leaves outlines and some toilet paper rolls for leaf stamping, it was fun!
